Justice Makers Mela 2024: Celebrating Voices of Change
From 29–30 Nov 2024, APNA President Hasan joined 600+ justice leaders at the Justice Makers Mela in Bhopal. Hosted by Agami, the event celebrated community-led justice. APNA shared its Jharkhand learnings, reaffirming that systemic change in justice is both possible and underway.
From 29-30 November 2024, APNA proudly participated in the Justice Makers Mela, a vibrant two-day national gathering hosted by Agami at the historic Minto Hall, Bhopal. The event brought together over 600 justice champions from across India- lawyers, activists, technologists, and grassroots leaders- united by a shared vision of making justice accessible, inclusive, and community-driven.
The Mela buzzed with energy as participants exchanged ideas on legal empowerment, digital justice, and institutional reform. Our Founder and President, Hasan Al Banna, represented APNA in panel discussions that explored how local justice initiatives, like ours in Jharkhand, are contributing to a broader national movement for systemic transformation.
“Justice is not confined to courtrooms; it lives in every community-led action for dignity and rights,” he reflected, underscoring APNA’s grassroots approach.
Workshops, storytelling sessions, and networking circles allowed participants to forge meaningful connections. One attendee, Rohit Sharma, founder of Awaz Leadership Lab, “The Mela reminded us that we are not alone in this fight- we are part of a national family working towards justice for all.” Organisers estimated that nearly 70% of attendees were first-time participants, reflecting a growing interest in people-centred justice movements.
Masoom Raza, from Indus Action, remarked,
“The energy and exchange at this year’s Mela show how innovation and empathy can reshape justice delivery.”
By the close of the summit, participants left inspired to carry forward lessons of solidarity, innovation, and courage into their local contexts. For APNA, the Mela was a reaffirmation that systemic change is not only possible, it is already underway, and we are proud to stand alongside others building this momentum across India.
